Celestine is a celebrated neighborhood restaurant and event space on the Dumbo waterfront with a focus on Mediterranean cuisine and natural wines. We are looking for a motivated GM to help develop our front of house team and make this restaurant the best it can possibly be. Our General Managerwill be involved in all aspects of the business. Strong organizational skills are a must for the administrative and operational side of the role, as are solid people skills for both front of house team management, maintaining staff morale, and service itself. We have well-established systems but creative thinking is encouraged to help us continually improve our work environment and the experience we offer our guests. Our service is warm and unpretentious, and we work hard to create an equitable, supportive environment for our team. Responsibilities: Work with ownership and our Service Director to create, establish, and maintain systems of physical and digital organization Oversee the front of house service team, ensuring that our standards of service are maintained while simultaneously supporting staff satisfaction through empowerment and motivation Leadday-to-day operations including preparation for pre-shift line-ups, scheduling, sales reporting, COGS and labor costs, payroll, DOH readiness, etc Work with the Head Chef to improve staff knowledge of menu and wine list; ideas for continuing education opportunities are welcome Work with Events Coordinator to manage large group bookings and semi-private events, as well as the execution of full restaurant buy-outs or off-site events Creatively contribute to service, marketing, and general operations of business Qualifications: 2 years experience in NYC restaurant management A deep knowledge and love of food, wine, and service Resy andToast experience a plus Compensation package includes a base salary, potential profit share/bonus after 90 days of employment, health care subsity and vacation time.
